It turns out California Deputy District Attorney Daniel Powell wasn'tjust advocating for the futures of others when he arguedin front of the California Supreme Court to overturn Proposition 8—the amendment Californians passed in 2008 to outlaw same-sex marriages. He was also fighting for the future of his partner of four years, Jonathan Calabretta, and himself.
